Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains how Shedams collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, use our services, or communicate with us:
- Account Information: Name, email address, date of birth, and profile photo
- Fitness Data: Activity logs, workout history, steps, distance, and health metrics you choose to share
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and app version
- Usage Data: How you interact with our app, features used, and preferences
- Location Data: GPS data during activity tracking (only when you enable this feature)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Track your fitness progress and provide personalized recommendations
- Enable social features like challenges and leaderboards
- Send you notifications about your progress, achievements, and app updates
- Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With Your Consent: When you choose to share progress on social features or connect with friends
- Service Providers: With trusted third parties who assist in operating our services
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights and safety
- Aggregated Data: We may share anonymized, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter. Specific retention periods are as follows:
- Account & Profile Data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Health & Fitness Data: Activity logs, workout history, steps, and calories are retained while your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
- Usage & Analytics Data: Anonymised usage data may be retained for up to 24 months for service improvement purposes.
- Payment Data: Transaction records are retained for 7 years to comply with financial and tax regulations.
- Communications: Support tickets and correspondence are retained for 12 months after resolution.
Upon account deletion, all personally identifiable data is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained indefinitely for analytics and service improvement.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, secure servers, regular security audits, access controls, and incident response procedures. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from within the App by navigating to Profile > Settings > Delete Account.
Deletion Process: Account deletion is a two-step process. You will first be shown a summary of the data that will be permanently removed, and then asked to confirm by typing "DELETE". You may optionally provide feedback on why you are leaving.
Data Removed Upon Deletion:
- All activity and workout records
- All friend and community connections
- All puzzle quest progress and XP
- Your profile photo and avatar images
- Your user profile and account information
Timeline: Once confirmed, your personally identifiable data is permanently deleted within 30 days. During this period, your account will be inaccessible.
Data That May Be Retained: Anonymised, aggregated analytics data that cannot be linked back to you; payment transaction records as required by financial regulations (up to 7 years); and data required to be retained by applicable law or regulation.
Account deletion is irreversible — all data is permanently removed and cannot be recovered. To request deletion without access to the App, contact us at dpo@shedams.com with your registered email address.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Export your fitness data

8. Children's Privacy
Shedams is designed for users aged 13-96. Users under 18 must have parental or guardian approval. We require parental consent for users under 16 where applicable under local law. Parents and guardians can review and request deletion of their child's information at any time.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or sending you an email.
